using the Canon FS200 camcorder, comparing the audio of the built-in mic and a lapel mic connected into the audio input - video is encoded in low-res (320x240) since this is just an audio test.. actual video does record in 720x480 with up to 37X optical zoom - the other known camcorder with audio input is the Kodak Zi8 pocket camcorder, which is a smaller form factor that records in 1080p HD but only 4X digital zoom and NO optical zoom -- which would you rather have?
